🎵 Kindergarten:

Kinders will continue to develop tuneful singing, beat skills, listening skills, and learn song repertoire. Play scarves, wolf puppets, Bach Bach Bach, and Buzzy the Bumblebee are all ready to have fun! (P. S. Kinder: Buzzy has some pictures to share from his vacation. He can’t wait to show you!)

Can your scholar guess the song based on these hints?

Grades 3 - 5, Ms. Smith (stephanie.smith@greatheartstxschools.org)

In music this week we are continuing learning about our music staff!

The staff has 5 lines and 4 spaces and we count them starting from the bottom.

Everyone is able to draw quarter notes on all of our lines and spaces and know which way the stem goes based off of our magic line line number 3. On magic line 3 and above our notes flip upside down!

We are continuing to explore our composers of the month and place our composers on our “Music History TimeLine.”

We will finish learning about the musical alphabet and will continue to learn new rhythm patterns next week!

Spanish

Grades K - 2, Mrs. Huerta (elidia.huerta@greatheartstxschools.org)

Hello Spartans,

Scholars are enjoying their Spanish classes, as we learn the basics of Spanish. We have started with the calendar routine, the colors, the days of the week, the months, and the seasons. In kindergarten and first grade, our focus this week has been learning feelings and emotions in Spanish. In second grade, we concentrated on greetings. Scholars were able to differentiate between a Saludo and a Despedida.

Grades 3 - 5, Ms. Castro (e.gonzalezcastro@greatheartstxschools.org)

Hello Spartan Families,

This week our students were really enthusiastic and participating in Spanish Class. The students continued working on greeting phrases and learning greetings songs. The students applied vocabulary to the calendar, seasons and weather. Last week, they learned and recognized objects around the classroom. Next week, we will continue working with nouns around the classroom. Now, we will be applying the plural on nouns.
