Grades 3 - 5, Ms. Smith (stephanie.smith@greatheartstxschools.org)

Hello Spartans!

In Music, we are learning our Winter Concert pieces!
So far this year, we are learning songs in French, Spanish, Latin, and English. Maybe there will be more languages to come... we will see!
We are also continuing to learn about rhythm and we will introduce/review notes on the staff.

Go Spartans!

Spanish

Grades K - 2, Mrs. Huerta (elidia.huerta@greatheartstxschools.org)

Hello Spartans,

This week in Spanish class, scholars learned all about the shapes and their Spanish names. Kinder focused on learning about the four main shapes: circle, rectangle, triangle, and square. First and Second Graders learned about nine different shapes. Scholars enjoyed learning about Spanish names for the shapes and looking for shapes all around them.

Grades 3 - 5, Ms. Castro (e.gonzalezcastro@greatheartstxschools.org)

Hello Families,

This week in Spanish class, we reviewed nouns in singular and plural by applying the correct article to nouns. The scholars worked on exercises related to the theme to reinforce their learning. Next week, we will start working with the seasons, starting with Autumn. Using Spanish, scholars will learn how to ask and describe what they like about the autumn season.

Looking forward to a wonderful week of learning!

P. E.

Grades 3 - 5, Coach Manta (mihai.manta@greatheartstxschools.org)

Hello Spartans,

In the past two weeks, we learned how to dribble a basketball, pass and catch, and jump shot. Next week, we will enjoy playing the game of basketball with modified rules. One of the modified rules is that instead of stealing the ball from the opposite player, we can block or intercept the ball. We focus on keeping our heads up to see our teammates and pass the ball.

We will do an experiment. What travels faster?
1. A player dribbling the basketball
2. A player running
3. A ball that is passed to another player

Conclusion? Your scholar will discover the right answer!

Together we are...
SPARTAN STRONG!
