In kinder, students have recently finished up their Paul Klee replica. We will be working on making a new clay project for the art walk this week. This project will be for display at our art walk in April! 


In first grade, students will continue working on their Paul Cezanne replica. We need to work on painting the table and wall of our apple artwork. 



In 2nd grade, students finished up their pots and flowers for the art walk. We will be learning about Henri Matisse this week! We are focusing on his famous goldfish painting.


Grades 3 - 5, Mrs. Looney (annie.looney@greatheartstxschools.org)

We have been busy in the art room this week!
3rd Grade: Identify vanishing point and horizon line. Next week we will draw a picture of the Taj Mahal!
4th Grade: Next week we will create a sphere identifying light source and cast shadow.
5th Grade: Study paintings of Post Impressionism we will begin to paint a replica of Van Gogh flowers.

Music

Our quiz days have come to a close for 1st and 2nd grade! If your scholar was absent or was not able to take their quiz, they will have the opportunity next week.


Next week, scholars will be having a “Concert Music Feast”! They will be sampling Concert Music songs and learning key sections. Yum!


The K - 2 Spring Concert will take place on Friday, April 19th. Families, mark  your calendars for another beautiful evening of music!

Spanish

Hello Spartans!

Next week in Spanish class scholars will be learning about another country that is in  South America. In Spanish we focus on countries where their official language is Spanish.  scholars will learn all about the country of Argentina. Scholars will learn interesting facts about the country also focusing on the flag and what each color represents. In our country units we also learn about the culture and traditions. This week scholars had fun learning all about winter clothing (la ropa de Invierno).

Hi Dear Families,


This week the scholars had a review and a quiz on verbs. Next week some scholars will have the opportunity to retake their quiz. Next week we will also have an imaginary trip to some Spanish speaking countries: Spain and Chile. 3rd Grade will learn about Spain and 4th and 5th grade will learn about Chile. The students will learn about the culture and traditions of these spanish speaking countries.

Hello Spartans!

This upcoming week our scholars will be playing 9v9 soccer outside (if weather permits) practicing our virtues of perseverance and responsibility. They have gotten assigned their soccer teams and team captains and are very eager to play!
